Pawer — Privacy Policy
Italiano
Ultimo aggiornamento: 3 novembre 2026
Pawer serve a segnalare cani e gatti randagi o in difficoltà.
3. Come usiamo i dati
6.1.f GDPR).
7. Conservazione e cancellazione
Conserviamo i dati finché l'account è attivo.
8. I tuoi diritti
9. Minori

Last updated: November 3, 2026
Pawer is used to report stray or distressed dogs and cats. It only processes the data it needs to work: it shows no ads, uses no analytics tools and does not sell your data.
1. Data controller
Nicola De Nicolais. Contact: ndn21dev@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account: email, password (handled by Firebase and never visible to us) or Google sign-in, name, an avatar chosen from those in the app, region and province to display and favorites. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google: we use your name and email, and the photo is neither used nor shown.
- Content you publish: report photos and details, sighting locations and addresses, status reasons, comments and shelters.
- Notifications: if you turn them on, an identifier of your phone or browser used to deliver notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging token), linked to your account, and the notification types chosen in Settings → Notifications.
- On your device or in your browser: sign-in session, chosen theme, whether you have seen the introduction, the last app version opened, the sightings you have already seen (to highlight new ones) and, on the web, whether you have seen the prompt to add Pawer to your Home Screen.
3. How we use data
Only to make the app work: account access, publishing reports, sending the notifications you turned on and support. We do no profiling.
We process data to provide the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for moderation and security, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Who sees the data and where it is stored
- Other users: signed-in users can see reports, photos, locations, comments, shelters, and authors' names and avatars. Your email is visible only if you turn on Settings → Privacy → Show my email. Notes and comments are visible to other users, and a sighting location may match a private address: do not enter personal data about yourself or others.
- Supervisors: can moderate content, but cannot see your private account.
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging) stores accounts and content and sends notifications, possibly outside the European Union with the safeguards provided by its terms.
- Browser push service (from Google, Apple, Microsoft or Mozilla, depending on the browser): on the web it delivers notifications, which it receives encrypted.
- OpenStreetMap receives the coordinates of the chosen place to find its address (Nominatim) and the map tile requests. This service can see your IP address.
- Google Maps or Waze open only if you choose to use them for navigation.
5. On-device processing
Photos are resized and compressed on your device before upload. Your location is read only when you ask for it in a form, never in the background.
6. Permissions
- Location: to show where you saw the animal. You can also pick the spot on the map.
- Camera: to photograph the animal.
- Photos: to attach photos from your gallery and save those from reports.
- Notifications (optional): to alert you to new reports in your area, closures and reopenings, and new sightings of reports you created, saved or commented on. You can turn them off in Settings → Notifications or in your phone or browser settings.
- Internet: to connect to the services listed above.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. From Settings → Delete account you delete your account, profile and comments. Reports, photos, sightings, status reasons and shelters remain because they can still help the animals, but as "Deleted user". Photos keep an anonymous technical identifier, which does not include your name or email. To have a photo or other content removed, contact us. The notification identifier is deleted when you sign out, when you delete your account or when it is no longer valid.
8. Your rights
You can request access to and a copy of your data, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by writing to ndn21dev@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante) or the authority of your country.
9. Children
Pawer is intended for people aged 14 or over. If you are under 14, do not use the app.
10. Changes
The new version of this policy will be available in the app with an updated date.
